PonBot

Currently there is no registration process for the bot. Izzyb will add one in the future. For now, request a bot account on the #planetofnix-team channel and someone with access will create your account. A temporary password needs be created by the one creating the account. Once created the user needs to change their password by opening a private chat window and issuing a password using the !password command like this

/query ponBot
!auth Your_nick temp_password
!password old_password new_password

Some tasks will require authenticating with ponBot. You can do this with a private message to the bot using the !auth command like this

/query ponBot
!auth your_nick your_password

You can do it in a /msg ponBot !auth your_nick your_password, but there is more chance of you accidentally posting your password in an open channel. Best to do a /query ponBot first. Its also recommended you use an ssl connection to protect the clear text password. Its best to use a different password for bots then for any other system access like ssh or wiki accounts, etc.
